Killing Evelyn early?

Is there a way to straight up kill Evelyn before she escapes to her lair? I haven't tried it (and am past that point anyway on my current playthrough) but wondered if it was possible.

I aggro'd her from a failed pickpocket and the entire city turned on me, so I don't think so.

I've been told that in EE if you attack Evelyn and kill her early she will come back a zombie like Jake so that you will still have that boss fight...?

Never personally tried it.

"Head down the stairs to face and kill Evelyn (quest update: 1050 XP). Speak to Zombie Jake afterward to complete the quest, finding out that the White Witch is the one who killed Councillor Jake. If you already killed Evelyn in town, you will instead face her again as a zombie."

And the 1st thing she says as a zombie is: "You didn't think I'd let a little thing like death stop me did you?"

Or words to that effect. It was quite a while ago when I did kill her. I had mistakenly left without making a decision on who to heal and when I came back it was too late, they had both died. That meant I could not get her Stone at that time.

So attacked and killed her on the spot!
