First level Man at Arms skill. What exactly is this suppposed to do? I have never actually seen it do much of anything. It's one of Scarlett's default starting skills. If I had known how ineffective it was, I'd have replaced it at character creation with something like battering ram or crushing blow.

Don't know exactly but as far as I remember, this skill sets warm status in cone and defroze your frozen partners. Not exactly very useful, but helped me in few battles when archers or frost mages turned my companions into popsicle

Right; that's about what I figured. Not having any clue from the description of the ability, and since she is described as a cleric, I thought maybe it was a spell that affected Undead. Doh. If I do another run through, ths gets dumped right away in favor of battering ram.

It can lower enemies bodybuilding and willpower, but a lot of times enemies resist.
It's still effective to clear a surface in front of you, so it's not completely useless.
It can also set enemies who are warm to burning, because warm+warm can become burning.

It will erase any surface on the ground where you fire it (not lava). And if the enemy fails their save when hit by it they get a penalty to their Willpower.

It is a very good spell to use.

Erase any surface? Does that mean it puts out fires, removes poison and oil? That could be useful, if true.

Yes that is exactly what it does. Also clouds of poison or smoke. It removes all environmental surfaces and clouds, except lava.

Well, Hell! There is no clue in the skill description to even hint at that usage. The skill desciptions need to be reviewed; some of them are a bit ambiguous.
