Treasure maps?
I decided to invest in a treasure map. I bought map #1, and read it. Lo and behold! When I called up the map command, I found that I now knew the loction of the Cyseal Prowler's chest of stolen goods! But no location showed up on the map. Where IS the chest?

Or, does the map just show the location of treasures that I would find anyway by simply exploring the area? If so, then I have already found and looted it, since I have crawled over literally every inch of the terrain in and around Cyseal, and am almost ready to move on to the next town.

In which case, I want a refund! Rip off!

With high enough perception you would find all the "secrets" while exploring. Highest perception needed around Cyseal and outskirts is10 but most can be found with pereption of 8 or 9 and some as low as 7.

You still need high enough perception even if you buy the maps to uncover the shovel mounds. The only thing is that you have an idea where to dig if you don't have the perception.

The treasure maps sold by the Teller of Secrets are pretty bad, because some of them only guide you to places you have already been and not necessarily to any treasure chest.
(The Avatar of Poison skillbook at the Lighthouse in Cyseal is one of those 'secrets', and it lies there openly.)

So none of the treasure maps is worth the price, none. Also consider that even if you dig up a chest, it's highly unlikely that you get something useful in there anyway. (And you can discover the mounds with high enough PER and maybe Light Stepper anyway.)
