You can only change difficulty between explorer and classic.
(Enemy spells and spell usage for example are implemented via scripts. So an enemy might still have "that deadly spell" even if difficulty was changed back to Classic or Explorer, or it would *not* have it if changing to Tactician.)
So Larian chose to disallow changing between Tactician/Honor and the other two modes, while a change between Explorer and Classic is possible because that involves nothing but stat changes.
I thought that making some kind of change to the game files was possible.
Its worth it though. You wont get bored.
