On checking your antivirus:
If you're using a Windows operated computer, your default antivirus would be WindowsDefender. Just search on your menu searchbar for "antivirus" or that and it'll lead you there, or your device security, which would tell you if there's any default protection program... uh, from there, you're on your own :P I suggest try finding if there's a log or "add [file] to exception" and adding steam/the game "if this was your case".
A *common game file issue* for DivinityOriginalSinEE is "EoCApp.exe", which is usually located in the 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition\Shipping\' folder, or where ever you downloaded it to.

i repaired the library folder of the game it downloaded the game again and now it works.
click "steam" on the top left corner of your screen >settings>downloads>steam library folders then right click the program and repair library. i also cleared the download cache you can do that on the same page in downloads. hope this helps
