the death knights in the mine...
this part of the game...
I'm ready to bang my head through the wall.

I swear, it's the most frustrating thing.

I see online, people say
"sneak past them"

but unless I've been pumping points into sneak all game (which I haven't)
this is fricking impossible.

there's like 6 knights in there , with huge patrol paths, that overlap each other.
I might get past one guy, only to get caught by the next guy.

people say "oh it's just like any other stealth game"

no , it isn't. usually in stealth games like metal gear solid, you can see the enemy's visual sight radius so you know to stay out of it.

the enemies in this game have incredibly large sight radii. they can see you from a mile away, waaaay off the edge of the screen which is technically where your sight radus ends..

othe people say "use invisibility"

and I use invisibility and it last all of 2 seconds. I can barely walk 10 steps and it already wears off and then the knights see me and I have to flee.

I'm glad I didn't take the "courageous" talent , because then I'd have to save scum and reload constantly, because once they catch you, they chase you relentlessly, won't let you disengage or leave the zone .

and then, one time I did manage to get past them with 1 character and I try to use the pyramid to teleport the rest of my party and there's some kind of ward set in the mines preventing the teleportations. so I have to somehow sneak all of my party past them.

and then I have the one all by herself, and then some regular enemies, some humans see me and attack and my party is split up and I have to run away again.

this part of the game is just bullcrap

The invisiblity of the adept aerotheurge may be short, but the invisibity of scoundrel is long enough. There is, midway a portal in the mine, so half of the sneaking is not mandatory for every party member.
True, there are mines. with a fireball you can made them explode. But I do not use sneak, in enhanced edition it is not worth it.
If you try to sneak and enter in combat with the death knights, you can use invisibility to flee to a point more advanced in the mines.
In silverglen, one vendor sells the scoundrell invisiblity. I don't remember that part being a huge pain

never mind, I got past it, still super annoying though...

vision range *is* marked rather noticeably. you can also enhance sneak with gear. having some invincible enemies was great design move imo.

i guess i do see the visual range, i wasn’t noticing it before because their range is so far, they can see me from off screen, so i kept getting seen before i could even get close enough to see their visual radius or their blips on my map...

I made myself an invisipotion + augmented it twice for a 15-tick invisibility. Got to the chasm waypoint and had enough time to loot everything too. From middle waypoint it was easy to sneak past to immaculate camp.

wait...how do you “augment” a potion?

and just saying, to make an invisible potion, i need shadow essence and all the way up to this point, i only found 1 shadow essence in the game

If anyone else has issue with the death knights, this dude had a great write-up on a tactic to get around them without invis potions. I used this strategy because I didn't have enough invis potions or skills or spells to get around them any other way.

It took a bit to figure out *exactly* where to teleport to, but once I had it it was worth the effort.

I actually just wait and run without sneaking, just need to estimate their timing since their walking pattern is just a repeat

Invisipotion has an alternate crafting requirement - small magic armor potion (potion bottle + whisperwood) + small air resist potion (potion bottle + jellyroom).
That nets a small invisipotion. That + augmentor (yet another plant) yields medium which in turn combined with a second augmentor gets you the big one.
