Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition Character/Party Guide[www.neoseeker.com]
Tactician/EE/Advanced Guide
Concerning the other hero, there are more options. A friend of mine chose archer/warrior. I chose the rogue (with archer skills later). I find the rogue useful, because of the invisibility skill you get at the begining, and the skill that allows you to walk over deadly soils to solve puzzles (winged feet). In combat the rogue as some fun abilities (summon skelet bomb, cloak and dagger), but for effectivity, I tried to learn some archer skills.
I pick up Bairdotr and use her as a pure ranger. She is a very powerful crowd control as well as single target damage dealer further in the game and early with special arrows. My mains are a battlemage and a cleric with Jahan making the fourth.
Ranger skills are great, crowd damage without hurting allies if I remember well, and the best use of the elemental arrows...
Have a shield/Sword wielder as my tank (Main Character)
Have a Witchcraft/Geomancer/Hydrophist (Other Main Character)
Wolgraff (Rogue) who use dual daggers for backstab
Bairdotr as my archer.
Super viable. In fact, Marksman Arrow Spray skill is the highest damage skill in the whole game. Tooltip may trick you into thinking this skill is AoE physical damage, but in fact, if you position your Ranger in melee range and use this skill, all the arrows will hit on a single target. I one shotted most bosses with this skill in Tactician mode.
