However, when I say you don't need to save them, that is not to say that you should ever throw them away. Unlocking rooms in Homestead is always a great thing to do.
And the Bloodstones can also heal & cure your party (one use only per Bloodstone), which is also great.
So that is why you may want to save a couple of them for tough boss battles or something like that --- but that's optional. If you use them in order to heal & cure your party, then you also get a room in Homestead unlocked from using that very same Bloodstone (and using it on the animal or evil Immaculate guy does still unlock rooms in your Homestead too).
And another thing to keep in mind that there are more Bloodstones in the game than there are rooms available to unlock in Homestead. So after you've already unlocked every available room in your Homestead, then it's pointless to use your excess Bloodstones other than for healing & curing your party. So in that case, you might as well save them.
