Stealing penalty?
is there any penalty (endgame wise, or longterm wise) for compulsive thieves who steal everything from everyone (not being caught, of course)?

Nope, if you didn't caught, you're golden. There are no consequences other than all the free money you've acquired.

Yeah, I wasn't stealing anything at first and then I was like OK screw this and now I'm savage klepto. Never caught though!

I particularly enjoyed the part where I lectured a guy trying to steal a fish, when I left the town clean of anything of value. He should learn to not get caught next time

Actually there is also no penalty for killing villagers if you are not spotted.

If you 1 shot them they won't even call guards.
