Crafting Medium Healing Potion on a controller

I play using Xbox One controller, and I see the recipe for Medium Healing Potion is to combine 2 Minor Healing Potions.

However it doesn't work with controller because selecting the same ingredient twice will just remove it from crafting.

Is there any way around this?

Split the stack so you have 2 of the same item in your inventory. Then craft. After that, you should just be able to do it through recipes
