STUCK Phantom Forest Temple Of The Dead How to Kill PT member without them leaving?

So i am at the temple of the dead in the phantom forest, ive teleported all the sentinels safely away and am able to reach the center platform. If i remember correctly i am supposed to kill a party member and pull the switch after giving them a tele-pyramid, however it doesn't matter how i try and kill any of my party members soon as i try their attitude towards me drops dramatically and almost instantly after that they leave my party permanently.
How the heck do I get past this part? I am running out of ideas of what to try.

The dead character can(or must?) be one of your source hunters

It's enough to just drop the pyramid onto the teleporter pad. It's "not living", so it gets teleported alongside the corpses.

you can also self kill (take dmg until you die) eg with poison or fire.

It can also be put into the dead cow because that works as a container (like a crate) and picked up from there after the teleport ...
