Once all that area is done you exit the West gate clean up that area then finally head out the north gate to go through the tunnel where the Mech is at.
The general strategy for dealing with most undead is to use silver and fire arrows; my general strategy for dealing with most enemies is having Jahan freeze them or stun them and having bairdotr and her arrows inflict other status ailments, since I have a team of two melee source hunters.
Here's a map[imgur.com] of the levels that different parts of the game are designed for. complete the cyseal regions in order and you should be fine.
That probably means you missed some stuff. If you do everything, then I'm pretty sure there should never be any reason why you have to fight enemies who are above your level; rather, there should always be enemies who are at or below your level somewhere in the game world.
But no one here has any way to know what you've done, or not done, based on the limited info in your OP.
Maybe if you describe all the things you've done, and/or post screenshots of your world map and quest logs, then people might be able to suggest more things for you to do to get exp.
Also, in worst-case scenario, you can always take down one or two enemies, flee, heal up, then return. The enemies you've previously taken out will stay dead, and thus you can slowly whittle down enemy mob sizes with that tactic.
yep. with lvl 5 enemies on normal pulling to guards also works. and op's great chance to keep guards alive if he helps in fight once they engage.
Implying you just made it into Cyseal the first time, the first thing you should have done is complete the Orc quest which practically involves a decison and returning back depending on your selection, then speak to Mayor Cecil as he briefs you on a bunch of lore talk but more importantly, his quest for the staff. Once you acquire it in your log, you would then speak to the sailors on the ship who then will reveal who is responsible for stealing it. It's on a beach that you will reach way later but having that into the log helps.
After that, you would proceed to complete the quest involving the elf and victoria, pretty simple stuff for the free exp and after that, you should start on the main quest which is the investigation. Free experience along with progressing the main story quest, plus the area in which it finally leads you to will allow you to complete Cecil's quest. You should speak to Captain Aurius then head to the crime scene, where you will then be teleported to the end of time and Arhu will reveal information about his quest and give you pyramids. Be sure to go to his room and acquire the remote control for an upcoming boss fight, an area before you get to this beach that completes two quests in one. There are multiple ways to complete the investigation but will eventually lead to the same destination. A shovel will come in handy. Be sure to get the evidence, located in the same shop of the suspect and find the note sent from another man. It will get things started and should be self explanatory. She will lead you to a person, but once you get into that person's house, you will have a reveal spell. That will be on the same beach as the cecil quest. Head north then go left. This will lead you to progression of the main story and once you complete this bit, you will get revealed even more information regarding the next area of interest. As others have suggested, speak to the lieutenant sitting at a table. She gives you a lot of quests. One is a lighthouse quest, which you can read by exiting the north gate and just heading left. Another is a church expedition but you can save that for later as the investigation quest will lead you there anyways and you're going to want exp before you get here. Another quest will be the actors on the right of the map, completing that gives free exp but the talking head is the main interest. He will lead you to another quest in the area of Black Cove, located in a cave from the gate on the left that leads to the beach. You can't miss it. Important for the main story and gets you a decent summon to absorb damage.
I may or may not have been helpful but that should get you started, atleast I believe that order would lead you to Silverglen eventually. EXP is important in this game so doing the side quests are quite useful even though some are optional, but even fun. You could go ahead and sprint to Silverglen but I highly doubt you will survive. I may have missed something but it should be a start. I'd be down for a coop run sometime if interested. I'm not an expert at the game but I've done cyseal so many times. Love those quests
