Tom, The Wannabe Adventurer: Charlene's Letter lost?

Greetings friends!

I recently had to check some leftover quests from my divinity playthrough and realized, that I still didn't finish "Tom, The Wannabe Adventurer". After checking online resources, I am in need of finding and reading "Charlene's Letter", which is supposed to be located in the cave with Arhu's Big Bad Robot.

I went there (again), found te exact body where the Letter was supposed to be, only to find it completely empty. While many other players seem to have problems to find Charlene herself to end the questline, I seem to be unable to find and read that letter to advance the questline.

Is it possible that I've unknowingly found the letter earlier and accidentally sold or crafted a spell with it? I don't believe such is possible with questitems, but it's the best idea I currently have of what might be wrong.

iirc i didnt've letter either for some reason. rechecked cave like 15 times still none so i gave up. and i never sold letters or anything that looks like sheet of paper...

I remember having difficulty with this part too, but my memory is hazy on how exactly I resolved it. I could be misremembering, but I think I didn't actually find the letter. Yet after I had found the location of Tom's corpse and then went back to Charlene, it gave me dialogue options to resolve the quest.

So that would be my advice if you haven't tried it already: just go back and talk to Charlene without the letter and see whether or not it gives you dialogue options to tell her about Tom. If it doesn't, then unfortunately I don't know how to solve your problem.

that's problem. sometimes i wonder if it's because i cleaned cave and let fabulous five leave town before i met her.

I believe you simply read the letter to advance the questline, then go to Charlene and answer her with one of two choices. If you sold/crafted the letter you should still be able to answer Charlene.

since she keeps telling me to look for tom that's not option. entire point here's letter's missing.

I'm having the exact same problem. Don't know if I sold the letter or not. And it seems I can't interact with Tom's corpse, so I suppose I already got the letter.

I know this thread is Ancient but still it may help someone.
If you have looted it earlier it should still be in your inventory.

You won't find it in the 'Miscellaneous' section though, try finding it under the 'All' section.
