That's what I did the first time, since I couldn't find where the wand was even though I had it in my inventory (but I also wasn't sure if I had it or not).
I later discovered that the game automatically put the wand into my Tenebrium box without telling me so at the time when I picked it up.
And you don't need to go into the Troll King's cave to get Tenebrium resistance. You could take the ore for Brandon from elsewhere instead. Yes, Sacred Stone should work (I believe), or Luculla Mines would too (that's where my ore for Brandon came from).
iirc answer's yes. in my playthrough king spots you = insta-fight and i've finished brandon's quest aaages before that.
You can kill the Guardian the old-fashioned way - by doing damage. I never said it's fast.
You can jump over the river in a particular spot and then steal Tenebrium skillbook and/or Tenebrium itself in Immaculate village (assuming you don't have lockpicking 5 to go through Loic's portal directly).
Yes...that is true. But you don't have to fight all the trolls at once. The King will call them to help if you didn't kill them before he sees you. But you can also sneak around and kill the troll guards in small fights without the King seeing.
you can actually clean whole area except every item on trolls without any fight. with emphasis on 'every' because you can pickpocket even off king :p hmm in fact 3-4 high level pickpocketers may be enough to strip everyone bare :) but i'd only one.
You can equip the Shambling Oak Wand out of Brandon's box without getting rot.
The game scripts do not take this case into account, or more precisely, you can only get Rot when an ItemTemplateAddedToCharacter() event happens and you do *not* carry Brandon's blood stone case in the party inventory (no matter who carries it) or have the Tenebrium ability.
The 'rot scripts' totally ignore the CharacterEquippedItemTemplate() (or similar, forgot the exact name) event.
