Telekinesis and the Garden Back Door Key

I searched the net and read a couple of answers on different websites, but none could help me. Maybe someone here's got an idea. I've got the following problem.

I try to reach the Garden Back Door Key in Cyseal-East. I read that you can get it with telekinesis, but for some unknown reason this doesn't work for me.
The situation is like this:
One of my main characters has the lvl 2 telekinesis ability through items (a ring and her bracers). I try to get as close as possible to the key (well, at least closer than 2 meters). The black box with the discription of the item shows up. But each time I click on the key (with the left mouse button) nothing happens at all.
I tried my telekinesis ability with random stuff one of my other charakters dropped and it worked alright. I tried leveling up to lvl 3 to no avail. I uninstalled und reinstalled D:OS EE - no success.
I'm running out of ideas.

Any help would be appreciated.

The garden back door key on the bench is an illusion. You can't get it. You have to switch the lever (left side of the door) to activate more trap along with revealing a treasure chest in the middle of the poison field. The real key is next to that chest.

That's a pretty nice idea by the developers to change this (as far as I remembered you could get it in the original D:OS).
