Yeah, just found one in Arhu's home. Now I have another problem. The recipe for a random skill scroll is a magic inkpot & quill + an empty scroll of that skill, correct? But that isn't working.

no.

you need the scroll to be a blank -element- scroll.

so you need to combine the blank scroll with either pixie dust (witchcraft) or a fire/air etc element to make a blank witchcraft etc scroll, before using the Magic ink pot and quill.

best to purchase blank scrolls. eg from cyseal librarian.

I never even used scrolls in my playthrough, except for Resurrection scrolls. For everything else, I prefer to use permanent spells.

scrolls can be cheap way to acquire permanent spells.

I was using skill generically. I tried making a random Air scroll by combining an empty Aero scroll with a magic ink pot and quill. Nothing happened. And yes, I have crafting 5; it just said invalid combination or something similar.
