Try to stun/knockdown that main skeleton who throws poison bomb. Before battle start try to sneak close to where he would spawn.
For every battle you will need tactic. At begining you will reload alot but efter you will just go with a flow.
Takes time and patience but for me it was way more fun than on classic.
That being said, rogues tend to perform quite poorly, especially in the earlier stages of the game--though summons should be able to offset that weakness. Consider trying one character starting with restoration from Hydrosophist, and pepper in "control" spells wherever you can. Then, see if the game is still difficult after recruiting some party members in town.
2) you're dual-wielding at lv. 1. Good luck doing anything. Realistically - if you don't see "Dual-Wielding - 3" on your character sheet, you have little to no business using an offhand weapon.
3) "Basic rogue skills" are fine and dandy, but starting with Man-At-Arms skills (Battering Ram/Crushing Fist, as suggested before me) and then buying your Scoundrel stuff should get you through. The biggest pre-Cyseal issue is enemy numbers, so you basically must have hard crowd control (freeze/knockdown).
4) Corollary to 1 and 3, you haven't provided enough support with your spellcaster. Vampiric Touch does not heal your melee, and doesn't even heal your caster all that well. Malediction does not help you, because you need to thin enemies out asap, which means you want Oath of Desecration instead.
And no, what I'm talking about here isn't really min-maxing. Just barely scratching the surface of challenge presented and making the most obvious adjustments.
Min-maxing would be starting your character as Knight (with whatever "rogue" attributes and skills you want) to get Firestorm grenade that pretty much auto-solves the 1st encounter and 2H sword which works better with Str 5 and 0 2H ability than dual-wielding at lv. 1. Or a sword/shield Fighter (also gets Firestorm grenade).
In other words - yes, you do need to actually care about what you do and how you build your party to a certain degree. At least have some semblance of a plan - how are you supposed to deal damage, how are you supposed to control the battlefield.
