Pick pocketing - how?
I have a rogue with one to base skill and 2 with items, yet from L5 Guards to civillians, I cannot pick pocket anyone, its blacked out when I right click on anyone. I tried sneaking, unchaining from the party etc but no luck.

Have you the invisibility skill from character creation? Try being invisible and sneaking.

Also, if you don't have the skill from character creation ("walk in the shadows" ) then you have to wait (a lot) and reach the second (cyseal being the first village) village in luculla forest (silverglen) and buy it in the tavern from a merchant NPC.

Certain NPCs require level 3 pickpocket skill in Cyseal and some reuire as high as level 5 later in the game. The main NPCs (Cpt. Aureus, etc)generally require high skill.

Yeah I have Walk in Shawows and tried to use that. I guess I'll just focus on traps and lockpicking if pickpocketing is so difficult

Unchain, get behing your target and sneek, click on them and if your high enough level you can pick them. If they start to move away you better be quick. If they turn to you or another person "sees" you steal then your caught also. The amount ($$$) of good you can steal i beleive is based on your level. I pickpocketed everybody i could in this game and stole as much as possible. Very valuable skill in this game for sure.

To keep your victim from moving have another party member talk to them while you empty their pockets.

I've tried pickpocketing the fish vendor. I had one of my characters engage in conversation. My thief is unchained and walk in the shadows has been activated. Unfortunately pickpocket is blanked out still. She is L2, my skill is L3 and she does have stuff in her personal inventory

my feeling's it also depends on lvl difference. i stopped putting points into pickpocketing rather early and still it seems to have become easier and easier.

yeah and i think it checks against total real values not inflated vendor prices so it's really nice when 2k gold wouldbe purchase fits into 800 gold stealing limit :)

dont you also need to sneak not just be invis? it should be same clicks as talking in ui but green text coming up instead of discussion bubble. or red warning if target's too high level or you already stole from them earlier. each character can only steal once from each npc so make first attempt count :P
