Skill Damage Bug
I've noticed that when I first load a game, the damage range of my skills is displayed as rather low. For example, Rain of Arrows is displayed as doing 761-1186 damage. When I remove one point of dexterity from taking off gear, the damage jumps up to 1106-1725. When I put that gear back on, the damage goes up to 1151-1794.

I'm thinking when you first load your game it doesn't factor in attribute bonuses to the damage, but when you change your attribute score the bonuses finally get factored in.

I'm curious though if this affects the damage you actually do, or if it's just a display bug. I've been testing it out on one of those watcher eyes, but I'm not sure my numbers are accurate since I'm killing them out of combat, and it's giving me only 1146 total damage (with the absorbed damage added) when the minimum is displayed as 1151.

I did a bit more testing and it looks like it is just a display bug. I ended up doing over 100 points more damage than the max of the range it displayed, so it seems attribute bonuses are being properly added to damage actually done, just not the displayed amount when looking at the skills.

I take that back. I just did some testing in combat after removing and replacing gear to get the higher damage value displayed. I did 300 points less damage than the minimum value displayed. I'm not entirely sure damage bonuses from attributes are getting applied at all.

It may be that the range displayed when you first load a game is actually accurate, and changing your attribute score screws it up and displays an incorrect higher range. I tried saving without any gear and loading that save, and the range WAS lower than when I first load a game with all the gear equipped.

In combat damage is mitigated by several factors: armor, dodge, etc so actual damage done will be lower than the range maximum unless you crit, then it will be higher.

That would be the amount it says absorbed though, right? I've been factoring that in. Even so, the displayed values are screwy.

The RNG would have to be really good to you to get the maximum roll every time when calculating hit chance and how well and hard you hit. There is more going on under the hood than is apparent.

I don't think you are understanding what the OP is saying, I have had a similar experience like this with a buddy of mine, we loaded our saved game and he joined me but all of his skills and attributes were reset to default, we had to reload an auto save and then load the most current manual save again in order to get his stats and spells back.

OK, I get the problem. Never experienced it myself so it didn't ring any bells when I read the orignal post.
