What are your system specs, especially the GPU and OSX version?
There is a known OSX issue with older Nvidia graphics cards (320/330/8600/9400) and most OSX versions (excluding 10.9.5, and fixed in recent versions of Sierra), which can cause freezing or crashes on startup when shadows are disabled in D:OS Enhanced Edition, and random crashes if they are not.
Try verifying the install files: in the Steam library, right click on Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition and select Properties, switch to the Local Files tab and then click on the 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache...' button.
Check for updated graphics drivers, etc.
Try pressing the Cmd key at game startup, and enable all the workarounds there.
Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game? Firewalls have caused conflicts (generally on loading screens, though) and overlays from graphics tweaking/monitoring programs or chat programs have also caused issues.
Game Center has caused startup crashes, particularly in El Capitan (though generally immediately).
I'm still having this issue. The game has not yet been running on my mac. I'm running High Sierra. Whenever I start the game, it says:
"The last time you opened Divinity – Original Sin 2, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to try to reopen its windows again? If you choose not to reopen windows, you may have to open and position the windows yourself."
Regardless of what I then do, the configuration panel opens and I can press "Start game". No matter which boxes I tick in the dialogue, I get the same message every time:
"Divinity – Original Sin 2 quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple."
Now, I have tried opening the game from a different user, from Steam and from Finder with Steam closed, but no effect. I don't think I have any other programs running, besides the great list of obscure processes visible only in "Task Manager". I don't think any firewall is interfering either. I have also updated my OS from Sierra (where the same problem occurred) to High Sierra, which hasn't helped. I have subsequently uninstalled D:OS and Steam and reinstalled it all with the new OS. No effect, same problem. What I have noted, though, is that the folder under ~/Documents/Larian Studios is missing – it was probably never created since the game has never gotten going. That folder being gone, I cannot really think of anything to do.
Please help me find a solution, my purchase of the game has cost me great amounts of time already and I would very much like to just play the damn game.
