What to do with excess equipment? Sell them? Can I salvage them for crafting mats?
So I'm a bit of a hoarder and spendthrift as well. I usually don't buy items from the shops and only upgrade items from loot drops (which is a bad habit methinks). I do upgrade accessories whenever I need them. I now have a fukton of excess items, should I sell them? Is there a salvage system in this game where you can recycle the items like in other recent RPGs?

Nope, you just sell them. You can just spend that money on crafting mats, but the stuff for crafting usually costs almost nothing.

You can improve some items and sell them for more. Or select only one merchant and raise rep with them. This will increase the money you have by the end of cyseal by ten fold!

Swords and axes can be turned into bars and then recrafted into swords and axes again. For example: level 2 sword (low sell price) made into bar and made into level 4 sword(higher sell price) when you are level 4.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I've started to upgrade weapons and armor before selling them.

Isn't there supposed to be a 'Trade' Button somewhere? Where is it exactly?
