A friend and I recently started the game, and while we're making it decently, we've both made some choices that call for a respec. The problem with this being every link I find to the cheat engine forums seems to be disabled. Is there any way someone could help me out on getting the CT files/tables?

Below is a link for a zipped copy of the 'latest' EoCApp.CT file, that I downloaded when this topic[forum.cheatengine.org] was available (search results in the forum currently give the same error, as well).

It isn't for the most recent version of the game, but worked for what I wanted it for. Some stuff takes effect immediately; with talent/ability points or changing the level of abilities (the only things I tried), a save/load is required to get the changes to show up in-game.

If you keep playing, you will unlock the "room of chaos" where you will be able to respec your character. It cost 1.000 Golds and the character forget all the learned skills.

I'm aware but from what I've read this can cause some skills to be unafforrdable.

Also it is about 2/3 of the way through the game and you would have to suffer with a bad build until then.

The CT file is a CheatEngine[cheatengine.org] table, so you need to use that (Windows) program.
For the install you would either need to uncheck some extra 'offers', or install it while offline. There is also a no-install rar file[cheatengine.org] on the downloads page. If you don't already have an archive manager that can handle rar files, try the freeware 7-Zip[7-zip.org].

After that, start the game and load a save, open the table (I just extracted it into the CheatEngine install folder), click the 'Select a process to open' button at the top left (highlighted with a flashing box cycling between red and green), select EoCApp.exe (preceded by a hex number, ie 00001FD0-EoCApp.exe) and click the Open button and then Yes. In the bottom list, select Hero Pointers, then go through Hero 1 to 4 to identify the right character. There is an 'Upgrade Points' section where you can add attribute, ability and talent points, and sections for each of those where you can remove/adjust values. Double click the value to change, and when you are done, switch back to the game to save/load (some things take effect immediately, character changes require a save/load to get them to show up in-game).

If you can not select the boxes at the bottom in CheatEngine, exit the program and the game and start over. That happened to me a couple times. There may be an easier fix, but I haven't used CheatEngine enough to bother trying anything else.

It's actually not bad at all. I just respecced my Battlemage yesterday and that's probably the most expensive character to respec because she uses so many abilities. I had to repurchase a ton of skill books.

But it was easy.

For starters, just hang on to all the loot you can carry in anticipation of the respec. All of the weapons, armor and wands will allow you to buy most of what you need without losing any money. I was able to buy 95% of my spells with just the loot I'd been hoarding.

Crafting can get you a few things too. Pay attention to what scrolls you've picked up. If you have a scroll that can be turned into a spell book, it's way cheaper to do that than purchase it. So save your cash for the spells you can't craft.

With Paper/Parchment + Pixie Dust/Essence you can make Blank Scrolls. Two Blank Scrolls gets you a Blank Skill book. Once you have a blank skill book you're halfway home. Take the scroll for the spell you want to learn + Blank Skill Book and it will make a skill book of that particular skill. Saves a ton money-wise. But the scrolls are random drops. I tend to save all of my and rarely use them in combat, so I was able to make several books for cheap.
