Respec characters?
Sorry to ask but is it possible to respec characters? I've started a game and realised I made a mistake.

Thanks

Theres a mod for respeccing but you need to start a new game for that, if not i think its first possible at lvl 11-12 ish at some guy, else you should be able to use CE to respecc

when you get enough star/blood stones you unlock Hall of Darkness

there you can respec attributes, abilities and talents. Though the character will forget all skills and will have to relearn them via skill books. Costs 1000 Gold for each respec

I am pretty sure you can respec without any mods, you can purchase an expensive item in the endless time i think from the secrets room

Who can tell me around which level i'll get those "enough star/blood" stones ?

The Hall of Darkness is the seventh portal to be opened (counting the observatory where you arrived initially as the first), which requires getting to Luculla Forest to get enough star/blood stones.
Normally it would be unlocked around level 12-15, but if you know where to go it can be done earlier (maybe 9 or 10 (?), since some are only available after combat, without specialized builds and exploits).
A couple would be easy to get after getting to Silverglen, if you Pickpocket Loic in the chapel to get the hatch key, which requires a minimum character level 6, Pickpocket 7 and Dexterity 9 (and the use of invisibility, to be able to sneak in public).
If you don't mind possible spoilers, there is an honour mode speedrun guide (under Community Hub, Guides, Walkthroughs) which I assume would describe the most efficient ways to get the star/blood stones.

Thx.

I don't think i need speedrun, except if respec mean loss of many spells/skills to relearn with money cost.

Limited level 20 with limited abilities number points shouldn't help me more.

Respecing will have the character unlearn most of their skills.
I suggested the speedrun guide just for tips on getting to the star / blood stones earlier.

If you are playing in Windows, you can use CheatEngine[cheatengine.org] to respec without the cost or requirements.
For the install you would either need to uncheck some extra 'offers', or install it while offline. There is also a no-install rar file[cheatengine.org] on the downloads page. If you don't already have an archive manager that can handle rar files, try the freeware 7-Zip[7-zip.org].

Here is a CheatEngine table[www.dropbox.com] I downloaded from this topic[forum.cheatengine.org] (broken link) when it was still available. It wasn't updated for the latest version of the game, but works for what I've tried with it (adjusting abilities and talents).

Start the game and load a save, open the table (I just extracted it into the CheatEngine install folder), click the 'Select a process to open' button at the top left (highlighted with a flashing box cycling between red and green), select EoCApp.exe (preceded by a hex number, ie 00001FD0-EoCApp.exe) and click the Open button and then Yes. In the bottom list, select Hero Pointers, then go through Hero 1 to 4 to identify the right character. There is an 'Upgrade Points' section where you can add attribute, ability and talent points, and sections for each of those where you can remove/adjust values. Double click the value to change, and when you are done, switch back to the game to save/load (some things take effect immediately, character changes require a save/load to get them to show up in-game).

If you can not select the boxes at the bottom in CheatEngine, exit the program and the game and start over. That happened to me a couple times. There may be an easier fix, but I haven't used CheatEngine enough to bother trying anything else.

I don't want to cheat, i want legit way to play.

I don't understand why devs don't allow hiring heroes respec early in-game.

I discovered traits concern only the two created heroes, not hired ones. Great dissapointement to get perfect team.

Thanks, Raze, this is exactly what I needed!
With the scripts, it easy peasy to take off a Talent and give me back a Talent Point that I can use for something else.

Raze_Larian, thanks a bunch for that! I just wanted to correct a minor mistake, and your post was exactly what I needed.

Hey, did someone have any problems with saving after changing parameters (talents, attributes etc.)?

I have a weird issue. After I make a change in the cheat engine, I go back to the game and try to save the game, but I get some kind of file error (504) and simply can't save the game because of it. This file error shows up ONLY after I respec any of the stats for my heroes in the CE.
