What Shells for?

I ate one and it says give water resistance.

But the description says it's used for famous pie recipe, but I look up online and there is no source on it. Is it just a false statement?

You cannot cook the shells but they do give water resistance 5% as you noted. I just sell them. By the time you need water resistance you will have better gear and potions. I think that recipe did not get into the game. The pie is actually Cyseal fish pie and made with fish and dough.

Ya, the description on it was very misleading, thought it was for actual crafting Cyseal pie. Guess it is just junk.
