AVP 2 Primal hunt?
Does anyone know if AVP 2 Primal Hunt is going to be released on steam anytime soon? If at all?

I don't know, but I hope release on steam. I'd like to buy it, and play the AVP 2 Primal Hunt! The best AVP game I ever played...:steamhappy:

I was literally just coming on here to ask about AVP2.

Why isn't it on Steam anywhere, or GOG?

Am I just not seeing it anywhere?

Like, how can you have both the classic and the newer one but not what is considered to be the "best" AVP.

If i understand correctly, its trapped in license limbo, where different entities partially owned parts of the game and some have gone bakrupt over time so nobody is sure who has the rights for the license anymore

With the rights in limbo the game is practically freeware now. AvPUnknown has the game readily available, with a multiplayer server patch for AvP2, and just recently, AvP2: PH. It'll never see an official Steam or GoG release unless the rights dispute is settled.

To clarify, the problem comes down to Monolith owning the Lithtech Engine, on which the game is built and runs, and Fox owning the rights to the ALIEN and (for the moment) Predator licenses. Monolith was acquired by Warner Bros in 2004 which means the game is shared between two corporate entities + Disney. Understandable, this would make getting the game back to market a difficult undertaking.

Sucks it is in licensing hell. I always wondered how they had the two other games on here but not that one. I mean, its a great classic game, I wish they could come to an agreement and release it again.

At least the community is keeping it alive.

I saw a post somewhere recently that they got the AVP2 master server up for mulitplayer.

Yeah, you can find an All-in-One file on the AvPUnknown website. Come with the Multiplayer patches as well as some bug fixes for the base game.

The mission pack was critically panned back in the day and believe me it's not any better today. The base game is good but the mission pack is truly horrendous.

I wish Disney would do a good thing instead of woke BS for once, if they would at least try to work something out to get it released on steam I'd for once thank Disney instead of bash the hell out of them, its so far the AvP game I want to play the most and likely never will get the chance to play simply due to how horrible my lap top is, it makes the complicated installing procedure pretty much impossible to perform correctly, tried twice, eventually got the game sorta working, just didn't let me load into levels, it wasn't crashing, just sending me back to the species select screen. That being said, as of now I've only gotten to play three AvP games, this, 2010, and Evolution. Still gotta be realistic about this, Disney is never going to bother giving the fans what they want, all Disney cares about is a crappy poisoned "woke" agenda they want to shove down our throats.

It's never going to come because Sirarra Online owned it as a Publisher.
With Siarra gone, theres 100s of other games (including one Valve title) that are abandonware and lost.

The licenses for a lot of the old Monolith games are lost in legal limbo and no one wants to do the work to get the license back. You can find AVP2 with the expansion for free on a dedicated website and it's been updated to fix bugs and work on modern OS's. I'd recommend just doing that if you want to really play it.

I can't get the AVP 2 game all-in-one to work on windows 11.

It'll let you play once and after that it will never boot again

For everyone I have a windows 11 and I just downlaoded and followed all the installation instructions I found on that website AvP Unknown and it is legit. I even played the multiuplayer game and found some people playing online lol (Like 10)

Now I am into this, I've been trying to find the AVP 1999 and 2010 elsewhere but cannot find. I feel I will just buy them on steam, it is $5 and $15 anyway, not big deal.
