DEMO SURFACES

Greetings submariners! We’re happy to announce that the first public demo of Heavy Metal Death Can is now live on Steam! The game has been in development since last december and we are so excited to finally be able to release something playable!

In conjunction with this release we've set up a Discord server (bad timing, I know...) to allow players to voice their feedback, report bugs or just hang out and talk all things Death Can. If you want to join the link is below, otherwise we gladly accept feedback on the Steam forum as well!

As for development we're currently chipping away at the beta of the game and we aim to be able to post more as we approach launch. If you'd like to be part of the closed beta-test, keep your eyes peeled for an announcement which should be coming out within the next couple of months.

Bad save system...

Don't care for limited saves like this. Looks like you can only save if you have a cassette, which I never found in the demo. So I had to keep restarting the demo from the beginning. Not fun in my opinion.

2000 Wishlists Update!

Good evening Submariners!

Hope all is well!

At Krufs Productions HQ we're keeping busy with the alpha, just wrapping up the first draft of the final boss of the game but since we just hit this milestone I thought an update would be fitting!

Since last update we've put out a collection of short form making-of videos where I'm talking about art, audio and music production. I plan to make a couple more if I find the time, so any suggestions of something game dev related that you would want to see lemme know!

This summer I had the pleasure to be invited to the La Boveda Podcast to talk about the game and Survival Horror in general:

One thing I mentioned in this interview is my view on melee weapons in Survival Horror and that we won't have any. Well, I'm happy to announce that we've backpedaled on that and have now developed a melee weapon that we feel works great within our design! I'll go into details on it in an upcoming dev short but for now we think this is a fresh implementation that doesn't take away from the resource management aspect of the game. And, it's really fun to use too! Thank you so much for wishlisting our little horror game and for coming along on this journey! As we approach beta we'll have a lot of exciting updates coming your way but for now we wish you a happy horror season!

Greetings Submariners!

Heavy Metal Death Can was announced a week ago and we are so excited to have so many of you already on board! (heh)

Thank you for wishlisting our little horror game. We will now be moving into the Alpha phase of development after a couple of months of rigorous preproduction since the Vertical Slice wrapped in April. Krufs Productions is a two person operation from Karlstad, Sweden. It's me, Toby, making art and music and my partner Fredrik who does programming. We are so excited about the reception we've gotten on Death Can this past week. We are huge Survival Horror fans ourselves so seeing the community embracing the game is really gratifying!

We're always looking for input from our community, what you guys want to see in the game or in any dev content and whether or not you have any feedback for us. We aren't quite sure about the forum yet, if you guys would want us to set up a Discord server we will consider it but otherwise you'll reach us here on Steam or on any of the socials listed on our website :)

Looks promising, but the enemies...

I think that the enemies needs a better positioning, first I thought that i had to find a weapon so I can pass them but you need to go their way anyway, thing is that the hallway is so tight that i always get caught an when i come back to the hallway the enemy is in the door waiting for me; this will be frustrating for most players, specially if you are just at the begining of the experience. Game looks and feels good, it gives you a very bad feeling in a good way....
