this is either a mistake or like another case someone hacked a dev account possibly
contacting fanatical should lead to a replacement possibly or a refund
those are the two common outcomes
do not bother contacting steam support if it was a key revoke
they will just tell you to contact the place you purchased the key from
there is nothing they can do as they know nothing of the circumstances
nor are they able to help sadly with cdkeys normally if recall
honestly id expect this from some lower devs or publishers
so this is a head scratcher
Edit: My account alert was on May 21st, so a little bit earlier.
https://www.fanatical.com/en/game/tales-of-symphonia
looks like tales of symphonia is which means they still have keys and contracts with them
sometimes when so much time has passed they prefer to refund
too many people like to resell
so you have the amount you paid v.s a keys cost which could go for more x.x
FYI to the jester giver
Fanatical has five flock games in search
So I had to ask the question
It's a legitimate question
Tales of Symphonia keys are still available at Fanatical though, so like I said, I think there was some serious database breakdown at those special times, which killed some game licenses obviously. Hard to follow what happened. In my case, either Capcom or Fanatical messed up. But it’s not really new. About a year ago I suddenly got a revoke for a super old key for the WWE 2K Battlegrounds DLC (which I bought from Gamesplanet, an extremely reliable key seller). They couldn’t explain it as well, but they gave me another working key, so all was resolved nicely in the end. I fear sometimes this stuff just happens :(
Long story short, I think in this case Fanatical will solve the problem without any hassle.
major companies like the ones that own the tales series gotta keep up there reputation
plus fanatical many of the official sellers tend to be kind about this kinda thing
must be added that the problem was solved quickly and a replacement key sent promptly
