Golden Armor and Spiritua Statue

I know in order to be able to start the series of events to buy the Golden Armor in the end of the game, I will first have to give the Spiritua Statue to Koton before going to the Tower of Salvation for the first time.

I just finished up Tower of Mana, and got the Boltzman's Book, thinking this is probably the time to give it to him, but nope.

he wont say anything besides "I haven't found any interesting artifacts lately. It's been quite boring."

so, I think Im just here ar the wrong time, so, what is the earlyest point in time I can give the Statue to Koton?

ok so, Ive played on a while

after saving the Pietro at Hima, and about to leave the city, Lloyd suggest talking to the dragon guy to fly to the Tower of Salvation, however if I do this, everyone will scatter and wait for the next day, where I will leave for the tower.

now I know that I need to give him the statue BEFORE going to the tower, and Im currently standing in his house where do still says the same thing.

is there something Ive missed here?

Do you mean the last armor for Kratos/Zelos that you have to pay 100 000 gald? If so, you can only buy it at the end of the game.

I know I need to wait untill the end to buy it, but I for it to be avable, I need to do a series of events etc, and the first of these events is to give Koton the Spiritua Statue before going to the tower of salvation for the first time.

Are you sure you haven't already handed it in to him? You should have been able to as soon as you got it. If you take the normal path you can just hand it in the first time you take the mountain pass. After that he'll just say his "haven't found anything lately" line until you need him for a different quest post-game.

well, if it dosnt work, Il just do it in another run.

But can you still progress in the story? Because if you can still continue the game without giving the spiritua statue, it doesn't really matter.

Im not sure you can even progress without giving it to him, so we will see

it could be possible that you missed the opportunity to hand him the statue. that depends on how you obtained it. did you get it with sheena using undine, or did you play the "minigame" to obtain it (meaning genis freezing footholds for lloyd). if you got it through the minigame, it somehow seems there is a point at wich you can't give him the statue anymore. most likely after passing the pass for the first time, and or after clearing balacruf mausoleum/tower of mana. (it would make sense to not have the option to hand the statue over after clearing every sylverant seal, but hey, who knows how some of those devs thoughts were back in the day^^)

yeah I got it doing the minigame, so I guess its a no go then, oh well, next them around then. :P

If you're still wondering, I was able to give Koton the statue after already having opened the Peak's pass with Chocolat's Pass, having retrieved the statue by using the minigame, having completed Asgard's miniboss but before visiting Balacrauf/Tower. Seems that that's the point of no return for handing Koton the statue...
