You need about 40 mil gald in order to get 1 mil casinos chips which take way too long even by farming those chimera's

This is the strategy I used when I got the Million Dollars trophy on the PS3 version:

I just sat at the slots for four hours for my million chips, saving whenever my profits jump.
I was watching Rick and Morty for the first time while doing this. Dark humor is my kind of humor.

1) Farm gald
Easy way : go to Trient forest, you'll find the golden dragon in the screen with the little lake. Equip blue sephira to get 100% more gald. Defeat the dragon, change screen and comeback. Repeat.
You'll get about 15k each fight. Farm it until you have 2mil galds (you'll reach it pretty quickly. I think one hour or maybe less is enough

2) Get your first chips
Once you have 2mil galds, you should be able to buy about 5k chips, wich is a very good start.

3) Save your game (you can do this before buying the chips but I prefer it in this order so I don't have to buy the initial chips everytime I comeback to the casino)
Just go back to the Altamira hotel, sleep so the night passes. Save and resleep to get oout at night.

4) Go to casino
Use the 100 chips machine. Always bet 500 (the max) and pray to RNGesus.

Result 1 : you'll probably loose all your chips without winning anything. It's ok, reload the game and come back

Result 2 : you actually win enough chips to get whatever you want (probably Raine's costume :D )

I gotta say, I thought the bit about specifically using Regal was just videogame superstition, but... after spending HOURS playing the slots with Colette (who has the highest Luck out of the party, properly equipped... ironically enough) and basically taking one step forwards, two steps back, I finally decided to give it a go, despite that meaning that I had to exit the machine and thus lose the 'Paradise Mode' that activates after you get a Jackpot.

But boy howdy, did it ever work! Shortly after switching to Regal, I scored a TRIPPLE JACKPOT. Once Paradise Mode started, I shortly afterwards got another Jackpot, followed quickly by a Double Bar... and then a TRIPPLE Bar, IMMEDIATELY afterwards. A few more spins later, I got a Double Jackpot too, and by then the Million was there.

So yeah... use Regal. I can only assume that whoever's 'fixing' those machines doesn't wanna piss off the boss. Which makes sense, sorta.

It has been proven on numerous occassions that it has nothing to do with the Luck stat, and the character who has the best luck at slots is totally random. IIRC, the instructions for the slots even suggest switching characters to change the RNG, so I'm guessing the random factor changes every time you use a different character.

To further solidify this point with an example, on my first playthrough, I started with Zelos at the 10-chip slots (because I didn't have the gald to get 5k chips), but he did horrible at the slots. I switched to Lloyd and did much better. Then, I saved and returned for the 100-chip slots, but both Lloyd and Genis did horrible. Colette, on the other hand, was awesome, and I even got a lucky-7s mode on one spin. On my second playthrough, Raine was the one making the dough, so it's completely random.

Also, IIRC, you just have to win a large amount of chips in one sitting to get Paradise Mode. On one attempt, Paradise Mode started once I got a 3-BAR.

That much is certainly true - when I was playing with Colette, I triggered Paradise Mode with a double BAR. It just... didn't seem to actually DO anything. She was barely winning enough to cover what I put in, and not even really that. Well, I can't say I know how it all works - all I know is that someone said that using Regal was the key, and I tried it, and it worked WONDERS.

I think character you chose make different. I'm not sure but someone may want to check that slot machine face is changed depend on who you used to played as. As a Regel i think that he has 7 face more than other character which make me 30 mins on him to make 1 mil chip while Genis took me 1 hours only 150k chips. Not sure about this would be nice if someone can confirm it.
