How to do unison attacks

I couldn't find this on here, and I'm having a hard time figuring this out. I'm using an Xbox controller, and when I press Y I enter the menu, from which I press for unison attacks (my bar is ready)....and then I get a screen with the 4 characters, with each one of their tech moves listed. I can't seem to select one. I can delete them, but if I get on a move and press A, and go to the next character and press A on a skill etc, by the time I get to #4, there is nothing to enter to signal that I want to start that sequence of events.

Press in your right analogue button. That menu you bring up is simply the attacks they will use based on the order of the character selected during the attack itself, if you press the correct button it will show a drop down text saying Unison Attack and from there you have a time limit while you select the order of attacks, I usually just go for attempting to get the highest amount of hits possible but i'm still not very good at this game despite having 20 hours my highest combo so far is only 36.

I'm not sure what you mean. I can see that all the characters have an arrow above their head, meaning that they have a turn. I don't know how to initiate the attack though.

Im saying you do not go into that menu, that is not how you activate the attack at all that is Only the menu in which you put which attacks they will use during a unison attack that menu has nothing to do with actually doing the attack itself. For me i have to press IN my right analogue button, as in press R3. Thats how it activates. Then I press X,A,Y, or B which is designated to each person who will use a tech.

The Unison Attack menu simply lists the four techs that are currently assigned to the character when they are manually controlled (if you have not, it fills it automatically). Say, if I have Kratos set to Demon Fang, First Aid, Eruption, and Hurricane Thrust, but then change control to Lloyd, Kratos should still have those four attacks listed in the Unison menu. That menu is only there to give you an easy place to switch out those attacks.

You start the attack by hitting whatever button is designated as the unison attack in the control menu- and actually hitting your intended target with the initiating blow. Then you'll see your four characters assigned a button, which you then use to pick an attack. If I have Lloyd assigned to "A", with demon fang as his neutral special, I would press "A". If I had Kratos assigned to "A", with Hurricane Thrust as his side special, I would press "A + Left/Right".

You also have to be fast. You're only given something like 3 seconds to input all four attacks from all four party members.

Don't know if you've learned the moves needed but...
Prism Stars gives you lots of hits. You can get that by having Raine cast Ray and having Genis cast a high-level spell, like Tidal Wave, during the Unison attack.
