HELP - How to decrease relationship points. Trying to get Kratos
I am currently at the event of Flanoir where you get choices base on your relationship level with each characters. The first time my top 3 people were (Colette -> Genis -> Sheena). The 2nd time around I was able to decrease Sheena down because I said something on her duel side quest. However it seems Raine was just below her so now the order is (Colette -> Genis -> Raine). I checked with the fortunate teller on my relationship and it seems that Kratos is just under Raine. I need to somehow decrease Raine's relationship before I do the Flanoir event. Any events or side quests to do that with Raine or even Genis?

One way to increase/lower affection a is to cook food that the character like/dislike.
For raine, she LIKES lemon, DISLIKE Mushroom. So just cooking any food that contain mushroom as one of the ingredient, and it will slowly lower down her affection.

You can also go back to Sylvarant (technically Tethe'alla too but you'll probably better luck in Sylvarant) and see what skits you have left in the overworld. Look up ones specifically for Raine and then just pick the options that'll annoy her more. Save beforehand in case you mess up. Not sure if it'll decrease your points by much but it's worth a try.

You don't need any affection rating for anyone. To get Kratos all you have to do is deny everyone's requests to talk or go out and Kratos will then come at the end. You relationship points don't really mean nill for this.

That's only in the GC version. Every other version since PS2 they made it so Kratos works like the other party members and completely rebalanced the affection system to take it into account.

Sorry if this is a bit of necro, but this is a common misconception. Tension is different from relationships. Food does not affect relationship points.
Eating food the character likes increases tension, which makes them get closer to the Over Limit state in battle. Completely unrelated to what determines who shows up in Flanoir.

You sure? I remember reading up guides and it says that Food ALSO affect relationship affection points.

Like this one at the "Cooking" section, at 2-005

Yes it does. By very little amounts (I think it's +/- 1 per cooking), but it still affects affection.
You can use the super useful save file checker ( http://rngeoff.com/symphoniasaveviewer ) if you don't believe me; it takes values directly from your saved game so it can't lie.
