... Why do people keep calling Mithos "him"?
I mean she looks almost exactly like Colette... with maybe a hint of that Yggdrasil angel, and has an obviously female voice (Japanese). But there was never any doubt in my mind that she was female until I though I heard Genis say "him" in a skit... then I noticed Zelos wasn't hitting on her...

Have you completed the game yet? Keep playing if not. Your question might actually get answered, sort of.

Mithos is a boy despite 'her' long hair.
Wanderer Bobbi Mar 29, 2020 @ 4:19pm
As Simon says, a boy.

So... clothing that looks like Colette's, face like Colette... hair like that angel guy... female voice... but somehow that is actually supposed to be male?

... Transgender? Somehow I doubt it as this game is from before that was... well... popular.

He just looked like a girl due to the art-style, his young age, and also his soft voice. There are a few girly-looking boys in the series. Like Ion from Tales of the Abyss.

because long hair is not only a feminine characteristic? besides hundreds of male characters have woman voices, it's better for more young and feminine boys, and also Mithos is the name of the hero of the legends on TOS world, so it already indicates that it's a boy name?

Who said anything about long hair? I listen to metal so I'm perfectly aware that it isn't an inherently female characteristic.

But being dressed like Colette and having a blatantly female voice are pretty solid indicators.

Welcome to anime where extremely femenin guys are a normal acurance. Colette's clothes are actually very gender neutral as they are basically a robe, that is very common in some parts of the world.

Also some young boys tend to have very high pitched voices.

My advice, get over it. Mathias is a guy and him being very feminen won't change that.

Hmm... nah. You're just dishing out excuses. I've decided Mithos was female all along. Not because I'm convinced that is canon or anything, but the excuses you guys kept giving were so weak and pointless.

Heck, I know that Goku was voiced by a woman, but somehow still managed to be manly. Mithos just doesn't.

Well whatever. As soon as I'm done with the Mania playthrough I'll probably forget the game ever existed.

They all seemed pretty valid to me, it's you who doesn't want to accept it for whatever reason. This whole post kinda seems like bait.

You never answered my question, either. If you ever decide to answer me, then my next question is what do you think of Yggdrasil? Considering they're the same person, do you think he's also female despite his voice?

Since you're being an ass, I'll spoil it for you : MITHOS IS YGGDRASILL

What is spoiled?
I'd completed this game twice less than a week after my last post. You're late to the party. I got all the achievements and moved on. I'm well aware that Mithos is Yggdrasil, though I thought she was his daughter at first, or that Yggdrasil had a sex change or somesuch.

Pretty sure he is male since the dude is called a hero and not a heroine.
I don't think you all understand OP's point. OP is arguing that gender, not biological sex, is a social construct. The two are very different. Biological sex are your xy or yy chromosomes. Gender is what is in your pants. Scientists recently at Harvard under Bill Nye's guidance did a test on the effects of long hair on gender and it turns out, if you have long hair you're a girl. You can't change that, it's physically not possible. It's in your biological gender and there's no getting around it. OP is 100% on target.
