Sylvarant Base puzzle

I've reached the first puzzle in Sylvarant Base where you have to electrify those drone things so they stay on those pads. I've tried that many times now but I still can't enter the door. The door opens but I can't enter. In fact, after restarting from the last save, the door still opens even if I haven't electrified them. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I don't quite remember about the details of that puzzle. Are you talking about the "main door"? I only remember this one. You need to somehow electrify the robot on the right side, and quickly shock the other one on the left side before the right one breaks free. Equipping Lloyd's EX skill which increases walking speed may help.
