FF both Online Games was bad as ♥♥♥♥ but TOS has the Ragnarok Feeling in it :) Nice Game to play for some hours in a week. Why should someone even dare to search for a Game to begin a total virtual live instead of fixing the real life ? Seriously people just forgot what Games are for....enjoying some fun time not fun years
ToS is weak in most areas but has interesting mechanics.
Just depends on what part of the game you are into.
I didn't say whether TESO was good or bad. It is simply more robust than FFXIV. This shouldn't be a secret to anyone who has played both games.
This
FFXIV is a zombified game. They watered it down more and more with each patch unfortunately. The cosmetics are pretty much the only thing the game has.
I've been reading the threads about people whinging and btching about how difficult this game is compared to all other MMO and if that's the general reasoning you had with your issue with the game then clearly this wasn't the type of game you've envisioned it to be.
Again not sure what you mean here by "Poor" quality. I honestly do hope you're not trying to compare character models with FFXIV which would be like comparing Tactics Ogre and Pokken.
Designed in both athletics? As for the connection to your character, do you mean to say that you wanted an MMO which treats your character as a special snowflake main character in a grand scheme of things? If so I believe the game you are actually looking for might be Warlords of Draenor and Legion where you become a legend above legendary npcs. But if you really wanted this level of immersion I'm not even certain if the game you desperately long to play is MMO genre, perhaps you might be better off with a RPG genre instead which would certainly focus more in depths in regards to this immersion you desire from a MMO.
I find this point laughable. Character customization is certainly far more advanced on FFXIV compared to ToS but the end game content as far as gear optimization and stat priority goes, there is no option at all. In the end everyone in FFXIV ends up wearing the same welfare gear, having the same stat growth and gaining access to same skills and abilities making their characters essentially same. ToS there are loads of classes and advancements to choose from, stat allocations are completely up to the player and there are no "Optimal" way to play your class, strategy and skillcap is something you work on at your own pace creating your unique tricks. While you don't have the level of indepth character appearance customization, what you achieve late game in ToS is a very unique character that is bound to be very different from the masses. Apply this to your friends and you are bound to have a very unique party which works in a unique synergy different from everyone else in the game. Which feels more restricted in that sense?
As a veteran Ninja with the latest raid tier, I can assure you that there are NO other way to play Ninjas in a raid than the most optimal rotation which you need to bear in mind while playing. Different situationals happens which might change your rotation from time to time but in the end its the same rotation button mashing all day everyday. Even more punishing because if you fk up on the rotation like your ninjutsu you get to be the laughing stock of the whole raid group for having a bunny of shame shtting on your head indicating that you fkd up. In ToS? there are no pre-determined optimal way to play your class since there are so many different combination of stats and abilities to choose from let alone class and gear which will come into place. There are no press 1 then 2 then if buff procs press 3 if not press 4 etc, every ability is highly situational and optional since most of your dmg comes from auto attacks. But if what you really wanted was a game with insane amount of character customization then I'd probably recommend Blade and Soul or Black Desert Online which easily beats FFXIV in terms of character aesthetics customization
Yes I admit that compared to a certain World of Derpcraft, the developers of FFXIV truly does commit their staff and resources into creating a unique experience to their fans. They have regular content, something WoW community has been begging for since the launch of Warlords. Though I have to wonder... considering ToS hasn't even released their first expansion how can you predict it won't have content? Are you even over lv100? How much of the content have you actually experienced?
Wait till you experience the PvP content of FFXIV. As a person who recently unsubscribed from FFXIV this is what I have to say. Yes certainly you get more content every 3~4 months which is awesome. Storytelling with good narrative and voice acting is superb in FFXIV. The leveling experience has also been great and I dare say it would sht on WoD's lvling experience. But that's pretty much it, the end game content dissolves away like a magic smoke once you figure out all you do when you login is grind daily dungeons, do weekly welfare raid and grind set amount of tokens/tomes to meet your cap for the week and repeat it the next week. At the end of the grind when you have enough ilvl you manage to get into hardcore raids which happens 2~3 hours a week or slightly more. Once you're decked out in the raid tier items.... yeah you're kinda doing fk all until 3~4 months later when they decide to bring in a raid and a dungeon if lucky. I've leveled Ninja, Summoner, Blackmage, Bard. Machinist, Dark Knight, Paladin, White Mage, Dragoon, Monk all up to Lv60 and geared them up in full raid tier during the 3~4 month wait only to do it all again then run out of things to do. PvP in FFXIV is atrociously designed so that's something less to do during those months of waiting for content. At the very least in ToS there are tons of classes to explore and try out and I really can't see myself leveling anything to max level in the span of 1 month. You'll also notice that alot of the things I've achieved in FFXIV you can achieve it without ever talking with other players, in ToS you're encouraged and even rewarded for socializing and playing with other players to work in synergy with other classes. But if that's what you'd consider a lack luster experience then I'd wonder if your preference in games would lie more predominantly with single player games over MMOs.
I certainly hope you won't find the same disappointment I felt after 3 months of playing FFXIV (I played for a year don't worry lol). You'll be sorely missed, whereas for me I've gladly unsubbed from WoW and FFXIV for this game.
