Emacs shortcuts
Would be nice if you could use familiar Emacs shortcuts like Ctrl-N, Ctrl-P, Ctrl-A, Ctrl-E, etc. etc. in the code editor. I always use them by mistake.

Well as said, I wasn't against the suggestion :P just the point of "some terminals dont have arrow keys" made me curious

Well it's not that I expect anyone to play this exact game somewhere without arrow keys, I just wanted to say that in general they're not necessarily there. Sorry if that came across wrong.

Bumping for emacs keybinds, ctrl + NPBF for moving in-node, alt+NPBF for moving between.

oh yes, optional emacs and vim shortcuts would be great
++1. Voted.

BTW, ViM > EMACS. Discuss ;)

Probably too ambitious, but it would be nice to have more than one "mode" such as text insert mode, visual mode, and maybe even a command mode like UNIX' "ed."

At the very least, copy/paste and node switcher could use alternate options, which could be implemented easily if shortcuts are customizeable. That's a thing, right?

Well, implementing a kill ring and such might be overkill, but at least having C-a, C-e, C-k and such would be really nice, it's just in my muscle memory.

Btw, emacs is more powerful because it is written and customizable in emacs lisp, which is superior to vimscript. If you want, you can have vim-like controls and editing modes in emacs (with evil-mode). However, for this game that is not of help. I don't think that default emacs controls are "better" than vim controls. However, I am used to them so it would be nice to have them.

the real difference is emacs can communicate with another processes via sockets while vim cannot
everything else is just a matter of taste (or un/ability to run viper)
