I just received the following message from Keith Harem (one of the creators of Toonstruck)... What do you think?

I did see the case study by Big Co, and I loved their work on this. They would be an excellent resource for restoring the artwork.

As you may know, the broadcast and game rights were inadvertently split, and we have been trying for many years to rejoin these rights. Our negotiations have been very close before, but I believe we are not far from finding a resolution on the agreement.

I know you have been a longtime supporter of the remake and sequel. If this can finally be resolved, we will need your help and the entire TS community to raise awareness and funding for game.

As such, I’d love to get your input and thoughts on this…How many fans do you think would support a Kickstarter for the re-release or sequel? And how much do you think people would be willing to donate? What platforms do you think fans would want? What languages would need to be supported?

Thanks again for your support and loyalty. With your support and the community, I hope we get the opportunity to bring Toonstruck back to life!

This would actually be pretty cool, I'd dig that. I think there may be more fans who'd be interested in this, I only by pure chance stumbled over the steam page for this and think there may be a lot of fans who are unaware that a remaster or a Toonstruck 2 are even an option.

It's hard to know how many people would support either. Then again Psychonauts managed to get a sequel so anything is possible.

I'd fund it but it really needs a push to get the word out. The failed Kickstarter for The 7th Guest 3 comes to mind.

I know at least a few people who'd chip in here in Oz (Australia).
(Toonstruck was a hidden gem that was discovered here too!)

So even if it went so-so in America, any shortfall could be helped by overseas (like movies do)!

And these days, there's a bigger following of voice actors, and I'm sure the stars of the games would be happy to retweet or whatnot for the original (and/or the sequel if it DOES exist near-completed like rumoured)!
(Chris Lloyd and Rob Paulsen strike me as supporters for a start!)
