• Complete overhaul of Louise’s attacks and mechanics. (Lance moveset is still missing some stuff, but the important bits are there!)

• In general, her animations should be easier to read... I hope... For now, she no longer has attacks to transition between weapons, and each weapon is unlocked as you progress through her fight rather than all of them being available right from the start.

• Fixed a bug where VFX would sometimes be set to an incorrect configuration.

• Restricted story mode. (You can still access it if you have an existing save, but there’s ongoing story and system work there to iron out.)

• Removed ??? boss from the demo. She will return in the far future... when you are ready.

• Reworked some cameras for grabs. Some angles have changed as a result of the new workflow, but at least now what I see in Blender is what I get in engine…

• Increased the recovery period for jump → hold attack.

Upcoming Planned Updates

• Louise — Cutscenes rework. She was the first experiment in doing those, so it’s time I go back and improve it.

• Kana — General overhaul. Design might change a little. She was originally pushed out in just a couple of weeks, so this time I want to promote her into being a proper main boss rather than being just an optional side boss.

• Story — Will probably take a while. I want to finish writing almost everything first so that I can start to plan out VA and translation work. (I intend on getting JP voice, but this is something for much, much later since I still need to go through the extra step of translating the dialogue.)

• Nia and Lynette should see some tweaks later this month. Since Louise has a beam attack now, it wouldn’t be right for the dedicated mage character not to have one of her own, right?

• Added slow time effect upon parrying, stance break, and death.

• Fixed bugs relating to on-parry effects occurring more times than intended.

• Some visual tweaks.

• Parrying now makes enemies “forget” some of your moves. (This does not apply to parry response actions.) Additionally, stance break completely wipes their learning rate.

Restructured how parry interactions work:

• There are 5 categories: Always Lose < Light < Medium < Heavy < Never Lose

• Most player attacks will only be interrupted upon losing a clash, while most enemy attacks will be interrupted upon draw or loss.

• Regardless of win or loss, stance damage and stance regeneration is still applied.

• “Always Lose” attacks, like the name implies, will always lose against any parry.

• “Never Lose” attacks are the highest possible strength, and cannot lose against any parry interaction. Enemy parry actions typically fall under this category and have no interruption.

• Uniquely coloured VFX has been added on each character upon parry. The effect varies for the player depending on the outcome of the clash, and so the enemy effect becomes more prominent when losing a clash and having the less flashy VFX show up.

(You might also notice that Louise has new weapon models now. Since it's been over a year since I made her, it's time to revisit and touch her up now that I have a better idea of what I'm doing. )
