Assasin's Creed Syndicate not Launching
Downloaded yesterday and not able to launch. My ubisoft connect was updated already but re-downloaded and installed again just in case. Still have the same issue. AC Syndicate begins to start with loading screen, then the AC steampunk DLC logo appears then total crash and close.

It's strange because I also downloaded AC Unity and it loads, starts, and plays just fine.
I'm not sure what else to try to get AC Syndicate going.

The game crashes after the "press any key to continue" message?
The first time this happened, it even bugged my PC and I had to force restart the PC :steamsad: .

Same issue as you, never had this problem before on Win 10, Upgraded to win 11 and this issue happens. I think its the latest Win 11 update that screwed this game as well as Origins.

Hi everyone, sorry to hear you're getting crashes at the start screen. Could you take a look at the PC troubleshooting in the link below and go through any of the steps you may not have tried?

However, if the issue persists I would recommend trying each of the following:

- Ensure your game is running on a dedicated GPU rather than an integrated GPU - https://ubi.li/q0hCX
- Clear Ubisoft Connect cache - https://ubi.li/uNKwr
- Launch the game in Windows compatibility mode if you are using Windows 11 - https://ubi.li/h0VCZ
- Perform a SFC scan - https://ubi.li/gCxN0 (Win 10 & Below) https://ubi.li/OYBuj (Windows 10 & 11)
- Unplug non-essential peripherals (extra monitors, controllers, VR equipment, etc.)
- Reinstall the support software - https://ubi.li/s9Zj3
- Uninstall the game and Ubisoft Connect, then reinstall them on the same drive as your OS - https://ubi.li/cf8hs

If those steps do not help could you please confirm your PC specifications (including if you have the Windows 24H2 update)?

I discovered what happens on my PC, for some reason when I start the game, it disables the cores of my CPU, leaving it only working with one.
What I do, first of all I remove the game's fullscreen, so when it crashes I can access my PC, after it crashes, through the Task-Manager I go to the game's affinity and activate the remaining cores, right after I do that, the game works again.

Hi! Experiencing similar problems with assassin's Creed syndicate. It does not seem to work on bazzite and nobara40. This is basically the same as the steam Deck. Did anyone fix this problem? It would seem that the game crashes during the splash videos at the point it tries to contact the Ubisoft servers. Hope that anyone has the fix!

Proton 8.20 (and other versions) didn't work. Reinstalling and verifying did not work. Clearing cashes did not work. Starting in offline mode did not work.

I have a temporal tip for the Ubisoft support by the way. Yes... We know Linux isn't supported. So please shut up! For a company that makes great games, the support is dreadful. And that's not meant to the individuals trying to help, but the company itself.
