Crashing on main menu

Lately i've been having issues with running the game. It used to work fine, but out of nowhere stopped working. As soon as I press A on the title screen, the menu starts to load, then it freezes and crashes. I can't find out what is going on, and its really annoying that I bought this game yet it will not run months after the purchase for no discernable reason.

1700x OC to 3.8ghz
16gb g.skill ddr4 3200mhz
Vega 64 UV@stock clocks
Installed on western digital 4tb black drive

The game used to work perfectly before, but now out of nowhere it just started crashing. I even tried wiping and reinstalling my ENTIRE OS and the game, and still crashes.

Verify integrity of game cache and maybe reinstall the latest version of DirectX. Update to the lastest video card drivers or try using an older, stable version.

Already tried all of this, both before AND after a full reinstall of my OS.

Steam overlay can cause freezing. Check task manager and see if any apps / background processes are using a lot of CPU resources. If other games run fine then it may be just the game.

Yea. find the graphics config file and delete it. let the game recreate it when it starts up. do NOT use exclusive fullscreen. after testing the graphics settings for awhile, i narrowed it down to exclusive fullscreen being bugged.

Here is the location

%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Assassin's Creed Syndicate\AC.ini

got the info from pcgamingwiki. Always use that to find out where a game's config files are, it'll save you a lot of time.

Does this still happen to you? I tried every fix on the internet and nothing solved it for me, not windowed mode, not changing ac.api, not deleting syndicate documents folder, not running in admin, not... nothing. Just nothing, had to refund it, it's awful coming to PC gaming and having to deal with that. Wow, i can play at 60fps high now... or not. So freaking sad rn

In case anyone with this issue stumbles across this thread like I did, deleting the file didn't fix the problem for me, but editing it instead did.
If you open the AC.ini file you can find the line "WindowMode=2".
Change it to "WindowMode=0" for windowed or "WindowMode=1" for borderless.

unfortunately none of the above works for me rn, i played it for like 4hours again and since the last time (3days ago or so) it keeps crashing in title screen
