Assassin creed Syndicate crashes on startup
The games loaded on my old system
my specs are
Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-7980XE CPU @ 2.60GHz (36 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
32 GB ram
Duel NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
Windows 10

now crashes on the ubisoft logo
researched internet, contacted Ubisoft nothing worked so far

is there a solution or should I just give up on Assassin creed, due to this situation I will not buy Origin

can anyone help??

Hi, mate. so you on the other post... have you tried launching the game directly via uplay?

Worked for me, don't have any more crashes when launching unless I f***up the .ini too much.

thank you ,yep tried launching from uplay even off line i have tried every trick from utube and ubisoft spent so many hours trying to fix it, i just find it strange when all the other titles work apart from their latest ones,

Too bad man, I suppose you already tried deleting the .ini file and the other one in the folder.

Other thing you can do is, set the exe in compatibility mode to your windows version and run it as admin.

i find it strange all other AC games work apart from the latest thats why I am not ordering origin

yep, Black Flag worked like a charm for me... Origin, nah... although beautifuly crafted, ancient Egipt is not my thing... don't know why...

I have same problem with same CPU (also this goes for every other cpu with 20+ threads). To fix this go to system configuration and boot your system with 20 or less threads and you wont get crash.

I have sifted through dozens of forum posts and tried an insane number of solutions and this is what finally fixed the issue for me (I'm on a 3970X). I have no idea how you figured it out but thank you, thank you, thank you!

why would having 20+ threads in the cpu cause this specific assassin's creed game from working? I'm not saying it isn't true. It may be. my older computer with less than 20 ran the game fine. My new one can't get past the epilepsy warning. Is there a guide on how to change how my cpu boots in the system configuration, by any chance? I'd like to test if this is my issue.

Yep, it's odd but it is 100% the issue in my case. Here's the instructions I followed: https://www.techjunkie.com/enable-all-cores-windows/#:~:text=Type%20%E2%80%98msconfig%E2%80%99%20into%20the%20Windows%20Search%20Box%20and,from%20the%20menu.%20Select%20OK%20and%20then%20Apply.

Yeah, it did work. i mentioned that to Ubisoft support but they did not really seem to care. This issue will likely will never get fixed. Kind of a bummer because it was a pain to find the solution

In Ryzen Master, enabling "Legacy Compatibility Mode" (on by default for "Game mode" profile) limits the reported physical processors to 20 which allows the game to launch without crashing.

I spent *TWO MONTHS* talking to utter garbage Ubisoft support telling me to "update windows, and my graphics drivers, and verify game files", before I finally found this thread. To anyone with a high core count (> 20), this is the solution to the problem.
