Game won't launch

[Stumbleduck]

Simply put: I cannot get the game to launch. It says it's "Running" for about 2 seconds and then it just stops. There is no splash screen. No idication it was actually doing anything. I have it installed on my main (C:) hard drive. And my computer meets the specs. So I don't understand why it's having trouble launching. Does anyone know of a fix?

I've already tried:

• having steam check the game files
  
• running the game in Windows 8 Compatibility mode
  
• running as administrator
  
• running steam client in (and out of) beta - also in part for my steam controller

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Found an easy fix juts follow EXACTLY what this youtube video does - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZw-rNINsI8

Even if you've already connected ubisoft with steam, do what the video does. (I already had ubisoft connected with steam, but tried doing it again and it worked.)
