Savegame transfer
I played many hours on Uplay. My main question is, is it possible to transfer savegames from Uplay to Steam? Read a few posts saying it is, but after trying, no luck.

Hi Bigmack,

Thank you for contacting us.

I believe that you should be able to do this by moving the Save file from the Uplay Save game folder to the Steam one.
  • Uplay PC: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\[Uplay ID]\1875
  • Steam PC: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\[Uplay ID]\1957
If you head to the Uplay folder, copy the contents, and then paste it into the Steam one then I believe it should allow you to access the Saves when launching through Steam.

I have tried that, it didn't work. I was just curious to see if it was possible. I don't mind starting all over again. Gives me a chance to do the missions I messed up in.
Thanks

I was going to try and back up my Syndicate saves but I realized that there's 4 saves in the 1957 folder? How is this possible?

Thanks for contacting us.

Save files can sometimes be stored in multiple files, I'd advise making sure you backup the entire folder.

(1 year later) Hi Mark or Baron, I have 4 saves files in my uplay savegame folder that I copied
in steam's one but whatever I try the game always ignore my files and start a new game. It's really annoying since I have all the dlcs on Steam and I can't play them rn.

Hey Ayko,

Thank you for reaching out!

Do the same saves still work in the Ubisoft Connect version (just to ensure they're not corrupted)?

And can you please confirm the ID number on the 'Steam' save folder you're using and that this hasn't been manually moved location before?

Thank you!

I tested my save again and it perfectly work. For the ID it's "1975" and pretty much the same location that UbiBaron wrote

Ah, misunderstanding. I wanted to say that my save work perfectly on Ubisoft not Steam ...
I still haven't been able to play the steam version with ubi files

Thanks for clarifying that for us, Ayko.

Can you send us across a screenshot of how the files and folder path look in the Ubisoft Connect folder, and then another showing how they look in the Steam folder? With this, I'll be able to reach out to some colleagues to get some guidance on how best to proceed.

Thanks for your patience with this :)

No problem Ayko, sorry for misunderstanding your post!

Should you want to try again please get back in touch with an image of the file path and we'd be happy to take another pop at it!

Until then, you know where we are if there's anything else you need!
