Spring Heeled Jack Bug?

I've made two attempts to do this mission (where you have to protect the "potential victims"), both times the victim has ended up just standing still with nothing happening to him.

The first time, I got sidetracked by a side mission (I still don't really know how the side missions work) after the demon guy first attacked. By the time I'd completed that, the victim had walked quite a way, but was then just standing still.

The second time (after quoting the game), the demon guy appeared, I attacked him, but disengaged for a moment, which made the demon guy just stand still (can't interact with him), while the victim was left screaming indefinitely.

Anyone else had this?

No problems here finishing it, try verying game cache files

I had no such trouble with it.

If the game files check out after verifying them, try pouncing on Jack from above. I did that my second try after failing to protect the victim, and he never had a chance to touch him.

Might be a coincidence, but was able to get through it after verifying the files.

Did it just check real quick or take some time to verify? If the latter, it was probably DLing missing or corrupted files. You can also tell by checking the lights on your modem. If they flash rapidly even for just a bit, something's being DLed.

Downloading/Downloaded.
Steam will automagically download files that don't match the master list. Steam wil also tell you that files need to be downloaded if it doesn't like what you have installed.
