Anyone else getting crappy peformance in cutscenes?
On my system they hover around 45-32 when the camera zooms up on faces. The one where Evie rescues that guy with the top hat during her forst mission really tanks.

I thought it might be because I underclock my cpu (disable the turbo boost) to keep heat under control, but that isn't the case because the fps stays the same even when the cpu runs at full performance.

My specs:

i74710mq @2.5ghz (3.4 turbo)
gtx980m (more or less a desktop 780)
16gb ram
windows 7 x64

I've seen a lot of people say this game is well optimised, but I have to disagree. 30 fps in a cutscenes probably due to some overzealous depth of field, can't be right on this hardware. Even the consoles (ps4 at least) don't go that low in that particular cutscene.

Yeah I get hits in performance as well during cutscenes, mainly when they take place inside buildings though, outside cutscenes still dip but not as much as interior ones.

Are you talking about in-game "cutscenes" or the pre-rendered ones? Becaues the pre-rendered ones have fps locked at 30 I believe and look slightly fuzzy.

I'm pretty sure it super samples during the cutscene for better visual fidelity, lot's of games now do this.

I mean the in engine ones. The pre-rendered run fine at 60 for me.

Interesting... in-engine ones run great for me but the pre-rendered ones look very grainy and stuttery...

I am getting 10-15 fps as my Nvidea Geforce GT 740M not detecting the game.. My intel HD graphics only detected by game..

Even if the game did detect your nvidia gpu, I doubt it would make much difference. That 740m is pretty weak.
DeadPhoenix Nov 29, 2015 @ 6:15am
that GPU isn't even made for modern games.
Ceriss Nov 29, 2015 @ 9:05am
Yeah my last laptop gpu was a 570m and it's pretty damn close to a 740m... It was getting 15 fps on low.

740m isn't gonna cut it here.

Fore reference my new laptop ahs a 970m and it's getting 40-60 and averages around 45.

If you insist on laptops for gaming then never go below a "70" for an Nvidia.

My old 570m was doing okay until AC4 in fact.

Laptop and gaming shouldn't be mentioned together, unless you get one of those new ones with the Desktop GTX 980's in them

Sigh...

My laptop has a 980m (a desktop 780 equivalent gpu) and it runs everything I've thrown at it very well, even Arkham Knight.

The days were laptops were incapable of running modern titles are long gone.

Aren't you just a bit mad that you could of had a 980ti, maybe even SLi for the money you paid for an overpriced gaming laptop?

They're expensive. I'll give you that. But I don;t have the room for a desktop. Plus I haven't yet needed for performance than what I'm currently getting.

Wait...level 0 private profile. Am I having a reasonable conversation or indulging a troll? I can never tell these days.
