Best settings for a GTX 970?

I just got Syndicate for free bundled with my GTX 970 (also came with a $100 wine voucher and a granola bar, hehe) and I am uncertain as to what settings would offer the optimal experience. I have a Gigabyte G1 card, so it has a factory overclock. Would overclocking further increase my FPS significantly in Syndicate? If so, I would gladly do that.

Secondly, I would prefer if the VRAM usage didn't exceed 3.5 GB due to the infamous issue with 970 cards. Lastly, I do not want my FPS to dip below 50 often. I would much rather it be a constant 60 for 80% of the time, if possible. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Well, I'm playing on a factory OC'ed Asus 970 and not having any FPS issues whatsoever. And that's with everything excluding AA on Ultra. This seems to be a very good port.

What I got on mine is everything on max except HBAO+ (not ultra) High shadows (not PCSS) and anti-aliasing set to FXAA. The framerate stays at around 60fps pretty solidly at 1920x1080

Well my MSI gtx970 has all ultra except SSAA but then again my res is only 1600x1200

Got everything on MAX, HBAO+ High Shadows.. TXAAx2..Got like 55-60 fps..it's good enough... I Refuse to play with Ugly FXAA

i have 970 to and everything was working great on max (anti alliasing off)settings 60 fps i ve played 25 hours until yesterday then fps dropped to 15-20 i've tried lowering graphics but nothing helped then i updated graphic drivers then it worked great again and now i started the game and fps is at 15-20 again regardless the graphical setting (everything is up to date) so problem is obviously not with my pc is this happening to someone else are they working on a patch?

I just had the same occur. Was running great yesterday and today its a dog. 2x 970 in SLI.

well at least we are not alone i am gonna send a message on uplay support. it's amazing how its works great the first day and then they ♥♥♥♥ it up like its not enough to downgrade graphic in comparison to unity this game looks more like ac4 and now it doesn't even work properly

Here is what you can get smooth 60fps ALL the way. Some area may dipped for instance if you were riding and rush. But anyways. Here what you should set. check back here and let me know if this works for you
Environment Quality: ULTRA HIGH
Textures Quality: HIGH
Shadows Quality: HIGH
Ambient Occlusion: HABO+ULTRA
Anti-Aliasing: FXAA.

With this setting, I was able to play smoothly beautiful... It's still a beautiful game.

thank you for the reply i tried but its not working no mater the setting i even put everything on low but fps is still 15-20 i agree it is a beautiful and fun game but in comparison to unity it looks more like ac4 then unity and if everything worked fine i wouldn't say anything, performance before graphics any day but it's not performing well for me

I failed to mentioned that I have TWO GTX 970 video cards and I turned on SLI for this game. It worked just fine... not sure about how many you have. Also, I have i7 4790k. What cpu do you have?

Use Very High Preset, and enable TXAA x2. should give a solid 60 fps :)

one gtx 970 but i highly doubt that my pc is the problem since every other game runs on max setting flawlessly (unity,mgsv,and so on) and those games are much more demanding than syndicate and as i said syndicate worked perfectly on max setting for 5 days until two days ago so its ubisoft problem most likely i have send them a question so we will see they are probably working on a update.because no matter the graphical (high,low) setting game is under 30fps
