Crashes after every sequence? (FIX HERE)
Hi guys this is an old topic and i just found out about it again because of a comment.
What probably caused this problem for me was playing the game while it was still downloading and continuing to do so after it was done (which is a neat feature btw).

When the game is fully downloaded, remember to verify cache integrity through Uplay.
This fixed pretty much all my issues, from crashes to missing sound files to teleporting under the same bridge on a random spot on the map every time i tried to fast travel to various locations, hope this helps.

Hey guys i'm playing this game through uplay and after every sequence a cutscene either appears or ends and my game crashes. As far as i can remember the saving symbol is always on screen when this happens. Anyone got a clue what a fix could be?
The game runs pretty well other than that, apart from sometimes low-ish FPs (30fps at minimum)

Edit:
Noticed this in other cases as well when the game was trying to save.

Specs:
Intel Core i7 3770 @ 3.4GHz
Nvidia Geforce GTX 760
Windows 7 premium 64 bit
8 GB RAM

Bump.
I'm missing a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of cutscenes because of this and it obviously isn't too fun to restart the game every time because uplay finds it neccesary to sync data for ~5 minutes every time i boot/close the game.

Dude wtf then make your own topic, what you just said isn't even remotely helpful for either one of us.

Hey Roy, this happens to me too. Some other guy wrote about this on Ubi forums abd was told to verify, re-install etc and it didnt fix problem. I dont think you're missing any cut scenes because after restarting game the cutsecene just starts again. Wait for patch me thinks

Nah i'm 100% certain i miss cutscenes because i see them start and i always end up in the same context but in control (e.g train cutscene with that weird lady who introduces herself, crashed after 1-2sec when the game started saving and after restarting the game i found myself walking around on the train as if i'd skipped it).

For the record, I have the game on Uplay.

I used to have this problem too, verifying the game files did nothing for me, and then I disabled cloud save from Uplay, disabled in-game overlay, and play in offline mode (or just disable your internet connection while playing), guess what? I can play crashes free and now I'm at the end of Sequence 4.

Hope this help.

For what it's worth, you don't need to go completely offline; cloud save disable and no overlay is enough.

Guys check your game integrity or some ♥♥♥♥ on uplay, same thing u often do when stuff doesn't work on steam, i forgot what it's called.

A couple things to try, if you have not already:
  • Make sure Syndicate is installed on your C: drive (or your OS and Steam drive).
  • Verify game cache.
  • Disable cloud sync.
  • Run Uplay and acs.exe as adminstrators.
  • Disable Steam and Uplay overlay.
If you are still experiencing crashing after trying those, try this (from crashwiki):
  1. Disable AV/Anti-Spyware.
  2. Open Start > Run > type Msconfig > Startup tab and uncheck everything there, restart windows afterwards.
  3. Close/Disable any OSD/Overclocking/Recording softwares (Fraps, MSI Afterburner, Gigabyte OC, Guru, Shadowplay,...) Disable Raptr (AMD users) before launching the game.
  4. Go to [ACS Installation Folder]SupportSoftware folder and install DX and VC++.
  5. Make sure you have .Net Framework 3.5 and 4.0 installed. for 3.5, go to Programs and Features and click on. Turn on/off windows features on the left, select .Net Framework 3.5 checkboxes and then press ok, for 4.0, download it from Microsoft website (Windows 7 only).
  6. If you have your CPU and/or GPU Overclocked, then disable OC and run them at stock settings, reset bios to default if necessary.
  7. If you have custom resolution and refresh rate defined in NCP or CCC then default it to native resolution and refresh rate, also if you have Nvidia Surround or AMD EyeFinity then disable and let it work on one monitor to see if thats causing the issue.
  8. Disable SLI/Crossfire.
  9. Disable voice chat from Uplay settings.
  10. If running from an Administrator (from the previous steps) didn't work, try creating a new Administrator account in windows and try running the game from that aaccount.

I have never installed a game on my C: drive (or OS drive), and I have been installing and playing video games since their invention. In fact, after Mickeysoft introduced UAC in Vista, this has become the worst time-wasting advice you can give someone.

Other than that, kudos to your very helpful and considerate post to the OP. You rock!

If you read the post these are not my words, these workarounds come from "crashwiki" for Syndicate. People have also reported that having Syndicate installed on an external drive, or a drive other than where steam is installed (a lot of people have steam installed on their OS drive as well), that the game will not work. If this is not the case for you than please don't call it useless advice because it may work for someone else (and has helped others to my knowledge).

But thank you for acknowledging that I am only trying to help all the same. Good day to you sir or lady.

The CTD after/before cutscenes does on occassion trigger an AV alert.
