Sequence 5 Research and Development Desync Loop
Hey guys. I've been really enjoying this game as of late. Got 10 hrs clocked in already, but I've run into a problem. At Sequence 5 Res. and Dev. mission where you have to rescue your ally from the cops and after board a train afterward I get stuck in a endless desync loop after failing my bonus objectives. Are there really no other workarounds except deleting my save files? Really don't want to do that. Thanks

(Edit: I've tried everything from alt tabbing to verifying integrity but nothing worked as of yet... :( )

Hey Mercadus!
I'm sorry to see you're experiencing this.
Can you share a video of this happening

damn :|
i had this on a dlc, only fix for me was un-checking the dlc in the file list in steam (uninstalling)
i would try unchecking all the files in steam and launching the game to see if it fixes it.
if not try a fresh install to see if it kicks you back in the game.

There are a few workarounds for this that players have had success with -

- Verify the game in Steam[ubi.li]
- Reduce graphics settings in-game
- Wait until the Animus loading screen (one where you are free to run around in) ends and just before the screen fades to black and your character spawns into the game, press the Windows button on your keyboard.
Once the window is minimised, wait about 5 seconds and maximise the window again by clicking on the game icon in your taskbar.
At this point, if everything has been done correctly, you should be able to continue the mission without experiencing the desync.
Please note that if you do not complete this part of the mission before leaving the game again, you will likely encounter the desync issue again.

Please let us know if you are still experiencing this after the above steps have been completed.

I basically had to lower all my graphic settings just get past it and can run my normal settings again, must be a bug with one of the graphic settings

This game has been out years. Says a lot about Ubisoft that they still havn't patched this game breaking bug

What worked as a fix around this bug for me:

1. Reduce all video settings to Low or Off
2. Place the game in windowed mode at lowest refresh rate possible
3. Disconnect from the internet
4. Restart the game
5. Start the mission and pray this helped

Hey Jessvid,

Sorry to hear that you encounter this trouble with a desync loop.

Can I check whether you have followed the steps previously mentioned by UbiGinge?

Many thanks

Interesting bug, I just had this. I'll try to watch the entire cutscene
Ari Jun 18, 2022 @ 1:17pm
I lowered the graphics to low, restarted the game and then I didn't skip the cutscene. It worked. So for anyone going through this, this will probably work for you as well. Could just be that you need not to skip the cutscene, since it looks like the character is somehow spawned on the track if you skip the scene and this somehow desyncs you. If you don't skip it your character is never respawned on that spot.

Confirmed: Simply not skipping the cutscene worked for me.

Ridiculous reading these suggestions from 'Ubisoft support' when their company could have fixed this game-breaking bug years ago.
