Best Assassins Creed soundtrack?
I havent played all the AC games yet, currently playing through AC2 and I absolutely love the soundtrack! Such immersive and fitting music, especially in Venice.

I also liked the soundtrack from AC1 but so far AC2 is clearly the best for me. But as I said I haven't played the other games yet and from what I heard AC:Syndicate actually has a really good soundtrack too (though different composer).

What would you rate the best soundtrack of the series?

The majority will say that Assassin's Creed II has the best soundtrack of the AC franchise, and I'll agree with them. On top of that I'll even add that AC: II has one of the best soundtracks of any game, ever. Every. Single. Track on that soundtrack is master level, from beginning to end. It is personally my favourite game soundtrack of all time.

My second favourite in the AC franchise is Assassin's Creed: Revelations. The Revelations soundtrack has so many good tracks. The AC:R theme is great, but tracks like 'Istanbul', 'Byzantium', 'Welcome to Konstantiniyye', 'The Crossroads of the World' and 'Sofia Sartor' really finish it off. That soundtrack is a close second to AC: II.

My third favourite soundtrack is the original Assassin's Creed soundtrack, the first game. It has very dark songs and other songs on the soundtrack that completely capture the setting. Tracks like 'Acre Underworld', 'Masyaf in Danger' and 'Meditation of the Assassin' are haunting tracks. The others on the soundtrack like 'City of Jerusalem' and 'Flight Through Jerusalem' perfectly catch the vibe of the first game.

My fourth favourite soundtrack is the one in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. Not many tracks on this soundtrack were memorable in my opinion, but that once that are memorable are damn memorable alright. Some of the best tracks are on this soundtrack. Tracks like 'City of Rome', 'Echoes of the Roman Ruins' and 'Rome Countryside' are fantastic. Other tracks that I really like were 'VR Room', 'Fight of the Assassins' (Epic track), and 'End Fight'. I'm not saying the other tracks are bad, I just didn't like them as much.

My fifth favourite is the Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag soundtrack. I can see many people rating this highly, but as I do not like the 'pirate sound', I can't rate this one highly. I do like the main theme, 'Pyrates Beware' and 'In This World or the One Below'.

As for the other 2 main entries, I can't say. I honestly don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about Assassin's Creed anymore, Ubisoft completely put me off this series with their terrible ports and yearly releases that just do not get me excited anymore. I've never played Assassin's Creed III, so can't comment on that one either.

Revelations takes it for me. 2 had some amazing pieces, but only a few. Revelations has like 90 minutes of solid gold IMO.

Meanwhile Syndicate barely seems to have a soundtrack? I can't recall a single piece from it. It all seems so disjointed and random. A lot of mixing instruments and feels. One second it's a jaunty fiddle chirping along, the next it's desolate piano and a woman singing. Feels like they jammed a lot of random things together. Sad, since AC has generally always had remarkable music. (3 and 4 had great pieces, etc.)

Sorry but I hated the AC3 soundtrack and how Lorne Balfe literally just composed like 2 or 3 themes and repeated them over and over (with nothing but variations of orchestriation). Same goes for the Revelations Cinematic soundtracks composed by him. Compared to Jesper Kyds original soundtracks, Balfes works were a shame. The AC3 main theme was nice but at the end of AC3 I thought I'd become mad if I'd listen it one more time.

I agree. Lorne Balfe keeps using the same sound over and over again for his tracks. I still rate the Revelations soundtrack highly, only because of Jesper Kyd's pieces; they're at master level.

Yes, Jesper Kyd's tracks from Revelations were wonderful! Almost more interesting than AC II

I'm really loving the soundtrack to Syndicate so far, especially the viewpoint music when you're on top of Big Ben. I believe it's a take on Nearer, My God, Too Thee:

I couldn't pick just one game, however. Some of my favourite tracks include:

Ezio's Family:

City of Rome:

AC rogue main theme. Or ACIII theme. Both good.

AC 2 being my first.
Next are Revelation
On Order : Unity, 3, Rogue, IV,1, Brotherhood, Syndicate (don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about liberation)

Although i hate Unity. their soundtrack are darker than 1. and i love dark soundtrack. 3 is like war anthem while revelation is so freaking dramatic (really hope the story is dramatic too but it's not even close)

I know this seems like a random, pointless comment mixed in a huge pile of other opinions from various strangers, but please.

PLEASE. Listen to the OST for Freedom Cry. No one ever talks about that one. AC2 and Revelations were my favorite soundtracks until I heard that one.

Give "On to Freedom" and "The Fight For All" a listen when you have time. I plead you.
