Beat me to the question, i was thinking it may have something to do with the World War hidden segment, but have no clue, and neither it seems does google. would like to know before i fork out on it and before the sale ends

Same here, I would like to know! At the moment this is serving to prevent me from purchasing despite the current winter sale offer. No where on the store page does it explicitly state the exact differences between the (WW) Gold version and the Pre-order Gold version.

Someone had mentioned that the Pre-order Gold version includes the Darwin & Dickens Pack, but I thought that may have been included with the Gold version anyway.

Can anyone clarify this?

I think the preorder version had the Steampunk outfits (if you own the Gold WW version and go look at the DLC in the store you'll see that those are the only DLC that you don't own and can't be purchased)

It means World Wide. In other words a uncensored version. It is the version that you get primarly in North America, UK, etc. Sometimes countries will have a censored version. Usually you'll find censored versions in countries such as Germany, Australia, China and other countries where their laws forbid certain depictions of violence, drug use and other things.

I could be mistaken, but I believe that the WW version also has the standard localization languages (English, French, Spanish, Italian, etc.) So I don't believe that the Russian would be a WW release (I feel sorry for you Russians, having a Russian only localization is just stupid).

I know it's a long time since you wrote your answer but I still want to comment on that. Usually you're right. There are often censored versions on the german market. But in this case there is a "WW"-Edition for us on Steam, which confuses me. Maybe it does mean something different than "world wide"...
