AC Syndicate: The last "classic" AC game, with VERY GOOD parcour and nice fighting animations and good fighting overall. Lot of gadgets and weapons. Story isn't anything groundbreaking, but playing is fun. The only thing that makes me not really liking this game is the AI, which is incredibly stupid. Their visual range is about 15m sometimes.
Overall gameplay time for the main story should be about 20hours.
AC Odyssey: More like a Spin-Off. Has nothing to do with classic AC, but plays rather similar.
Combat isn't good, on highest difficulty you hit harder enemies for hours until they die, Assassinations require the right gear, otherwise you cant kill with one hit (very annoying, and looks ridiculous)
Parcour is simplified, but it's sufficient for the setting.
World is huge, a lot to discover, something around every corner. The added Ship+the fighting with it is very casual and feels much worse than the one in Black Flag.
Main Story is very long, but also enlengthened through level gating. About 100 hours.
So both games have huge problems in my opinion, but they are still fun to play.
Hope this helps with your choosing.
But he didn't.
That was my guess.
How you like Odyssey so far?
